Smoking

Smoking meats and cheese is growing in popularity. Smoking your food is a process that is done typically with low heat and it retains a higher level of the fats and moisture in the meat than other cooking styles. From this slow process, the meat is cooked very thoroughly and actually makes the meat last longer than other cooking methods. The amount of flavor that is cooked into the meat as well is one of the main reasons for this cooking style.

Bear Mountain BBQ Woods makes some excellent options that will fit any application you might have to smoke your meat.

Smoke‘ems

For those with BBQ’s without a smoker option or a separate smoker, the Smoke ‘ems are the perfect solution. They are tin packets with wood pellets inside that you simply place on your BBQ surface while preheating your grill. Ensure the hole on the packet is facing up.The packet should begin producing smoke within 5-10 Minutes. Once the smoke begins to produce, adjust your temperature on the grill and place your meat on the grill and close the lid. Each packet has enough pellets to smoke for up to 45 minutes allowing for a significant amount of cooking! Once you have completed barbecuing let the packet cool down. Once cool and safe, the packet can be opened, the pellets discarded and the tin packet recycled! These Pellets have no binders, additives, or preservatives making them all-natural.

Here are the various wood smoking flavors available in the Smoke ‘ems packet:

  • Gourmet BBQ
  • Bold BBQ
  • Savory BBQ
  • Sweet BBQ

BBQ Wood Chips

Wood Chips are a popular choice to produce that favorite wood fired flavor for you. They can be used in your smoker or barbecue with the right items.

A cast iron smoker box allows you to turn your bbq or stove easily into a smoker. You simply have to place this cast iron box into your bbq or grill and fill it with the BBQ Wood Chips. There are differing opinions on whether you should soak wood or not prior to smoking. If you choose to try to moisten wood, make sure to do so in a different container so that it doesn't have to evaporate water to start heating the wood. Some will soak the wood in juices or alcohol to add a specific desired flavor.

When you go to preheat your grill, place the box close to the flames. Some will either let the flames or coals heat the box and cause smoking or will light the wood chips separately and place it in the grill. Either way the goal is to create smoke so that you can enjoy that great smoky flavor.

Here are the various wood smoking flavors available in the Wood Chips:

  • Mesquite
  • Apple
  • Hickory
  • Cherry
  • Gourmet

Wood Chunks

For those with smokers or bbq/smoker combos, these chunks are a great option. While also used by people doing smoke pits, these large size wood chunks provide a larger amount of smoke and will burn for longer than other pellet and chip options.

Here are some of the flavors we offer:‍

  • Mesquite
  • Apple
  • Hickory
  • Cherry

BBQ Wood Pellets

For a wood pellet smoker or a Traeger these are the right choice. These pellets are great options for all smoking applications and produce a lot of flavorful smoke and allow you to regulate the amount of wood you are using more accurately.
