There are currently 49 breeds accepted by the American Rabbit Breeders Association, all of which can be raised for show, pet, wool, meat, pelts, and manure for the garden. Pet rabbits can be litter box trained, taught to do tricks, and can be very personable. Domestic rabbits can live up to eight to twelve years, if cared for appropriately.
